I have decided to start writing a blog in hopes of discussing important educational issues that come up for teachers everyday. My hope is that others will join in the discussion and we will be able to look at what faces us everyday as a community.
Situation: I am teaching in a Title 1 school in Atlanta, GA. This means that the US Government "provides financial assistance to LEAs and schools with high numbers or high percentages of poor children to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards." (taken right off the government website).
ME: I have been teaching for over 10 years now in various settings from a public preschool to the music classroom in Cambridge, MA. I received my Masters in Early Ed from Wheeelock College in Boston, but ended up teaching music because I had a background in it. I fell in love with it and have been teaching music ever since.So let's see what happens......
